The Best Fall Nail Trends to Try in 2026, From Bambi Prints to Pumpkin Spice Chrome
Fall Nail Inspiration:
· CosmopolitanFall is officially on the horizon, which means it’s time to swap those bright summer manicures for something a little moodier, cozier, and more seasonal. Whether your ideal fall nails are a rich polish or an intricate design, there’s no shortage of ways to lean into the season of cozy knits and pumpkin spice.
The best part? These designs work across every nail length and shape, so you don’t need long extensions to pull them off. You can also take plenty of them to your own bathroom counter if you’re a DIY master. To get a better idea of what’s coming for the season, I tapped celebrity nail artists Sigourney Nuñez and John Thomas for their predictions on the colors, finishes, and designs they expect to see everywhere this fall.
Ahead, the fall nail trends worth saving now, no matter your manicure style.
Sweater Weather

Fall dressing is all about cozy layers, rich colors, and patterns that make you want to live in your comfiest sweater, so naturally, we want our nails to match these same cozy-inducing vibes. There’s no shortage of prints and textures to pull inspiration from, whether you’re into classic plaids and argyle, colorful stripes, or cable-knit details. You can even mix and match different patterns across each nail or work a print into a French tip for an elevated take.
Bambi Patterns

Fawn-print accessories have been popping up everywhere lately, from loafers to handbags, and the fashion-forward animal pattern makes for such a cute fall nail look. From French tips and colorblocking, or a full Bambi-inspired set, there are so many ways to bring the doe-print to your fingertips.
Olive and Plum

Fall’s richest shades are getting a fresh pairing this season, with olive green and a moody red making for a playful mani. “Olive green with deep plum is an artistic combination that feels perfect for fall,” says Thomas. Nuñez agrees that these shades work particularly well together, whether it’s for a literal olive-inspired design or another autumnal print. “Burgundy and olive are fall staples for a reason. While they look amazing on their own, when you pair them together, it’s like wearing an entire fall color palette on your nails.”
Fall French

If you’re not ready to give up your beloved French manicure for fall, simply switch up the color palette. “I’m excited about French manicures using unexpected color combinations. Instead of a traditional white tip, I love powder blue with burgundy or several complementary fall shades across the manicure,” says Thomas. It’s the simplest way to make the classic look feel more seasonal.
Pumpkin Spice Chrome

Fall’s warm polishes are getting a more dimensional update this season with chrome finishes. “Pumpkin spice shades with a velvet or cat-eye finish are already all over my feed,” says Nuñez. “It’s a fun and playful way to experiment with those classic fall colors.” Thomas is seeing the same finish take off, too. “The chrome cat-eye craze is the biggest trend I’m seeing right now, and it can look like velvet, satin, or even a gemstone depending on the lighting.”
Animal Print Tips

Fall and animal prints go hand in hand, and there are so many patterns to play with this season, from classic leopard and zebra to softer, more unexpected options like fawn. “My favorite trend is when the animal pattern is layered over a French tip and accented by a bold shade,” says Nuñez. “We can definitely expect to see more versions of this in the fall.” The above red and cheetah-print combo is especially chic and on trend for autumn.
