Nuñez agrees that these shades work particularly well together, whether it’s for a literal olive-inspired design or another autumnal print. “Burgundy and olive are fall staples for a reason. While they look amazing on their own, when you pair them together, it’s like wearing an entire fall color palette on your nails.”

If you’re not ready to give up your beloved French manicure for fall, simply switch up the color palette. “I’m excited about French manicures using unexpected color combinations. Instead of a traditional white tip, I love powder blue with burgundy or several complementary fall shades across the manicure,” says Thomas. It’s the simplest way to make the classic look feel more seasonal.

Pumpkin Spice Chrome

Fall’s warm polishes are getting a more dimensional update this season with chrome finishes. “Pumpkin spice shades with a velvet or cat-eye finish are already all over my feed,” says Nuñez. “It’s a fun and playful way to experiment with those classic fall colors.” Thomas is seeing the same finish take off, too. “The chrome cat-eye craze is the biggest trend I’m seeing right now, and it can look like velvet, satin, or even a gemstone depending on the lighting.”

Fall and animal prints go hand in hand, and there are so many patterns to play with this season, from classic leopard and zebra to softer, more unexpected options like fawn. “My favorite trend is when the animal pattern is layered over a French tip and accented by a bold shade,” says Nuñez. “We can definitely expect to see more versions of this in the fall.” The above red and cheetah-print combo is especially chic and on trend for autumn.
