The Strict Rules Emmy Nominees Reportedly Have to Follow

The Emmys are incoming and apparently the nominated celebrities have to follow some preeeeeetty strict rules.

According to The Sun, celebs simply aren’t allowed backstage at the show unless they’re presenting (or walking back to their seats after winning, presumably). And apparently they run the risk of being kicked out or even arrested if they try to get into areas they aren’t authorized. So praying for everyone who gets lost wandering from the bathroom back to their seat.

Meanwhile, phones are fully banned—or, at least, using them to record content is. The Emmys reportedly prohibit audio and video recordings of any kind, which means if your friend/co-star wins an award and you want to capture the moment on your phone, you’re fresh out of luck and have to wait for the official broadcast.

Other non-negotiable rules? The Emmys don’t allow any outside food and drinks in, including sneaky flasks, and celebs aren’t allowed to smoke or vape anywhere inside or around the theater. And finally, The Sun reports that there’s a very strict no-re-entry rule. Meaning, once you walk into the Emmys, you can’t walk out—unless you’re fine with not being let back in. Sorry!
