I Tried Aquaphor's New Everyday Moisturizing Formulas for a Week
· CosmopolitanI've relied on Aquaphor since I was 9 years old; that's when I started experiencing dry, sensitive skin on the insides of my elbows. I lathered on the Aquaphor Healing Ointment every morning and night to soothe my skin. When I went to college in upstate New York, that giant ointment tub remained my saving grace during the brutal winters.
For a long time, though, I only used Aquaphor products for these concerns and seasonal skin issues. Now with the launch of the Moisturizing Cream and Hydrating Daily Lotion, the brand is making a solid case for becoming an everyday, year-round part of my routine.

Moisturizing Cream is a non-greasy face and body formula that contains hyaluronic acid, glycerin, shea butter, and ceramides to soothe and nourish; Hydrating Daily Lotion is a lighter weight formula that soothes and provides breathable moisture with hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides. Both formulas are designed to strengthen the skin's moisture barrier, too.
As a beauty editor, I try tons of bodycare products and very few are gentle and moisturizing enough for my dry, sensitive skin. But after incorporating both the Moisturizing Cream and Hydrating Daily Lotion into my rotation for a week, the formulas have earned spots in my daily lineup.
Day 1
After showering at night, I applied the lotion on my legs and the cream to my arms where my skin is drier. Upon application, both the lotion and cream absorbed into my skin quickly and didn't leave behind a greasy or sticky residue.
Before testing these, my skin would often feel dry and crepey by the next morning. But after just the first night with the Aquaphor duo, my skin didn't feel tight or thirsty when I woke up.
Day 4
By the middle of the week, I got into a routine with the products. On mornings when I worked out or took a quick body shower, I'd reach for the lotion for a dose of hydration ahead of the day. The cream became my go-to after exfoliating, shaving, or taking a shower at night.
I went on an overnight staycation and brought the travel-size versions of both the cream and lotion with me. My skin was grateful that I didn't have to settle for just any lotion the hotel provided.
Day 7
This summer has been especially tough on my skin's moisture barrier between spending lots of time in the sun and pool, but after a full week of using the Aquaphor formulas, my skin felt noticeably more comfortable and moisturized.
What surprised me most was how easily they fit into my routine. I can use the lotion every day without feeling like I'm coated in a thick layer product—it absorbs so easily that I can get dressed immediately and my clothes don't stick to my body. The cream provides me with rich hydration my dry skin needs after being exposed to environmental stressors that affect the skin's moisture barrier throughout the day.
I've relied on Aquaphor for years when my skin was at its worst, and now, after a week of testing, I'm just as excited to use these new products to strengthen my skin's moisture barrier and keep my skin hydrated. I'm especially looking forward to having these in my rotation come winter, when my dryness is at its peak.
