Noomi Rapace, Maryam Touzani to Star in Nabil Ayouch’s Psychological Thriller ‘Run, With No Tears’ as Films Boutique Boards Sales (EXCLUSIVE)

Popular French-Moroccan director Nabil Ayouch has assembled an international cast led by Noomi Rapace (“Mother,” “Prometheus”) and Maryam Touzani (“Razzia”) for his next film, “Run, With No Tears,” a psychological thriller which will shoot in French and English.

The project, which starts filming in September, has been boarded by international sales banner Films Boutique ahead of the Cannes market.

The story follows two women who travel to Morocco to adopt another woman’s baby. The script was co-written by Touzani – whose last directorial effort, “Calle Malaga,” sold around the world and won the Audience prize at Venice — and Ayouch.

“Run, With No Tears” marks Ayouch’s follow up to “Everybody Loves Touda” which played at Cannes Premiere. He also previously directed the competition entry “Casablanca Beat;” “Horses of God” in Un Certain Regard; “Much Loved” at Director’s Fortnight; “Razzia” at Toronto.

“Run, With No Tears” produced by France’s Les Films du Nouveau Monde, Morocco’s Ali n’ Productions, Sweden’s Rainy Days, Belgium’s Velvet Films, and Norway’s Staer.

“Run, With no Tears” is produced by Ayouch, Amine Benjelloun in Morocco, and Jean-Rémi Ducourtioux in France. It is co-produced by Stella Härnström and Piodor Gustafsson in Sweden, Sebastian Schelenz in Belgium and Elisa Fernanda Pirir in Norway.

The project is supported by the CCM (Centre Cinématographique Marocain), the Belgian Tax Shelter, the Swedish Film Institute, and is coproduced by Film i Väst (Sweden). Distribution rights are handled by Le Pacte in France, Cinéart in Belgium, and TriArt in the Nordic.
