Jelmer Boskma Joins Digital Domain As VFX Supervisor

Jelmer Boskma has been appointed as Digital Domain’s VFX supervisor, the company announced Friday. An acclaimed VFX supervisor and art director, Boskma’s role on the senior creative team will further strengthen the studio’s commitment to cinematic excellence.  

Before joining Digital Domain, Boskma previously served as visual effects supervisor at DNEG, where he oversaw high-profile projects through creative and technical execution. Prior, he was at Scanline VFX where he served as the VFX supervisor and art director. Boskma’s credits include “Murderbot,” “Star Wars: Andor,” “Marvel’s Eternals,” “Ant-Man & the Wasp” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

“Jelmer’s reputation for creative excellence and technical innovation is second to none,” said Gabrielle Gourrier, executive vice president at Digital Domain, in a statement. “His leadership will be pivotal as we take on the next generation of storytelling for film, episodic and immersive experiences. Boskma is well-versed in digital  sculpting, creature design, matte painting, concept art and art direction, all of which allows him to support project’s progression through each stage. He is a member of the Visual Effects Society and has earned both Primetime Emmy and VES Award nominations.
