Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley to Reunite After ‘Hamnet’ for Benh Zeitlin’s Outlaw Romance ‘Hold On to Your Angels’

Newly-crowned Oscar winner Jessie Buckley is reuniting with her “Hamnet” co-star Paul Mescal for “Hold On To Your Angels,” written and to be directed by Oscar nominee Benh Zeitlin (“Beasts Of The Southern Wild,” “Wendy”) and what promises to be a buzzy film launching in the Cannes market.

Plan B (“F1,” “Moonlight”) will produce with Alex Coco (“Anora,” “Red Rocket”) under his Rapt Film banner. The Veterans is handling international sales, with domestic distribution rights represented by CAA Media Finance. Production is set to begin in February.

Set on the edge of South Louisiana, “Hold On To Your Angels” follows a hell-bound outlaw (Mescal) and a ferocious shepherd of lost souls (Buckley)who fall in catastrophic love as their crumbling bayou paradise drags them under.
