Carly Rae Jepsen Announces Double Album ‘Day and Night’

The album will be divided into “Day” and “Night” sections, each of which will have 12 songs. According to a release, “Day” is “organic and raw, with live instrumentation and hints of ’70s-inspired psychedelic pop.” “Night” is “exploratory and intense, shifting into a sleek, synth-driven world of dance pop.” For the project, Jepsen collaborated with Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert and Cole M.G.N.

Jepsen will give a first taste of the double album with the single “On Wires,” out this Friday. She will launch the album with a headlining performance at New York City’s All Things Go Festival on September 27, marking her first live performance of 2026 at the top of a bill that also includes Zara Larsson, Lola Young, Brandi Carlile and Muna.
The pop singer has been teasing her return to music over the past few weeks with cryptic posts on social media featuring various images accompanied locations, dates and times.
Jepsen last released her seventh album “The Loveliest Time” in July 2023 as a companion piece to 2022’s “The Loneliest Time.” In August 2025, she staged a one-night-only celebration of her landmark 2015 album “Emotion” with an intimate and joyous anniversary show at Los Angeles’ Troubadour.
Variety praised the anniversary show at the time, writing, “Those lucky few who made it inside were treated to a beginning-to-end (and, spot-on) performance of ‘Emotion,’ an album that reinforced the seriousness of pop music without taking itself too seriously.”
