‘The Voice’ Celebrity Edition to Air on NBC in 2027, With Host Keke Palmer and Judges Joe Jonas, Queen Latifah, Riley Green

“The Voice” is plotting its first-ever celebrity edition. NBC announced Tuesday that it is starting production on “The Voice: Celebrity,” which will air sometime in 2027. Keke Palmer will host, while Joe Jonas, Queen Latifah and Riley Green are set to serve as the show’s coaches.

This reps the first celebrity edition of “The Voice” anywhere in the world, although stars have occasionally shown up to audition as a gag — including in the U.S., where Jimmy Fallon did a prank “blind audition” in 2023. For the show’s Season 31, “this special season swaps undiscovered talent for a wide range of celebrities – actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars – competing to become the first ‘Voice’ celebrity champion.”

Celebrity contestants will be announced at a later date.

“The Voice: Celebrity” will mark Jonas’ debut as a “Voice” coach, while Latifah and Green will be immediately back following this fall’s Season 30, which will mark their debuts on the show. As usual, Carson Daly hosts the regular edition of “The Voice,” which returns Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET. Adam Levine is also back as a coach.

As for Palmer, this reps her second time hosting for NBC, where she also helms the gamer “Password.” She’s also the star of Peacock’s “The ‘Burbs,” and has several more hosting credits under her belt in addition to her resume as an actress, singer/songwriter, producer and author. Her TV music competition experience includes serving as a guest mentor on “American Idol.”

In describing “The Voice: Celebrity,” NBC said the show will include new features like “Voice Boot Camp ,” following celebrities as they prepare for their blind auditions, while the “VIP Room” will show artists watching their fellow celebrities as they take the stage. Then there’s the “Workroom,” which will show the celebrities as they “strategize, rehearse and ready themselves for the battles.”

“The Voice” comes from MGM Alternative, a division of Amazon MGM Studios, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, a Warner Bros. Television Group company, and ITV Studios The Voice USA, Inc. Creator John de Mol is executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick. Daly is also a producer on the celebrity season.
