RBD’s Dulce Maria Renews Deal With Sony Music Publishing (EXCLUSIVE)
by Thania Garcia · VarietySony Music Publishing Mexico has extended its 12-year relationship with RBD‘s Dulce Maria, renewing the singer and actor’s contract ahead of the release of new solo music.
Having recently completed a global reunion trek — playing stadiums and arenas in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and the United States for more than 50 dates — as part of Mexican pop group RBD in 2023, Dulce is expected to release new music as a soloist. She’s already started the rollout: revealing her latest, “Ojalá,” a collaboration with Spanish singer Beret.
Dulce has released more than 30 songs as as songwriter, including some of RBD’s most beloved hits like “Más Tuya Que Mía,” “Te Daría Todo” and “Quiero Poder.” She also has a strong presence as a solo act in Brazil, collaborating with the late Brazilian singer Marília Mendonça on “Amigos con Derechos,” and “Ela Ta Movimentando.”

“The renewal with Sony Music Publishing is a proud and very important step in my career,” said Dulce in a statement. “For 12 years, they have protected and promoted my work as a composer, a fundamental part of my creative process. Since I discovered the power of telling my stories and connecting with thousands through my art, composition became my passion.”
The “Soy Rebelde Tour” came in at No. 10 on Pollstar‘s highest-grossing North American tours of 2023, grossing an average of $4,350,050 as the second-highest Latin music tour of the year (behind Karol G).
“From the age of 11 I began to write and compose my first songs,” adds Dulce. “After my participation in [Spanish-language drama series] Class 406, I entered Fermatta, a music school affiliated with Berklee, to study composition. But I had to interrupt my studies when Rebelde started, which gave me the opportunity to reach thousands of hearts and many countries. My desire for telling my stories and emotions through music has always guided me.”
