YouTube Announces Two Creator Shows Will Screen on Opening Day of TIFF, Hosting Inaugural Creator Festival with Variety
by William Earl · VarietyYouTube and Variety will host a first of its kind creator showcase and party on Sept. 10 at the Toronto International Film Festival celebrating the worldwide premiere of two new creator shows. The event will mark the debut of both projects as part of TIFF: The Market screenings. The showcase marks a milestone for the creator economy, TIFF and Variety.
Top global creators Mark Vins and Ziwe will each screen never-before-seen YouTube shows at The Market. Vins of Brave Wilderness will premiere his feature-length documentary “Reef to Ridge,” which follows his team on a high-stakes expedition through the Galápagos to film endangered species. Ziwe will premiere two new episodes of her popular and culturally influential series “You’d Be an Iconic Guest.” Each screening will be followed by a Q&A with Variety’s executive editor of film, Matt Donelly. Both shows will move exclusively to YouTube later this year.
