Chanel brought springtime bloom to New York Fashion Week.

While the new bottle was the star of the night, guests arrived with plenty of Chanel leather in tow. Paige DeSorbo, for one, showed off a new metallic lambskin handbag she picked up at the Venice Film Festival earlier this week. “I walked by Chanel and this was in the window, and I said, ‘No one can have this but me!” she muses to Variety.

Others brought a more sentimental touch. Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast — in the final days of her pregnancy (“I’m ready to pop!”) — carried her mother’s decades-old black quilted Chanel bag. “I think it was just such a big investment piece for her,” she says. “I knew it meant so much to her, so whenever I carry her purse, it feels really meaningful to me.” Sherman also thought of her mother while getting ready for the event, recalling her mom’s go-to scent as the original Coco Mademoiselle. “I’m a Patchouli girl!” As for the newest iteration? She only has one word to describe it. “Girl.”

After walking a carpet shielded from the hectic SoHo street by the restaurant’s deep-red streeteries, attendees made their way into the restaurant where they were met with floating trays of cheeseburgers, salmon crudo, shrimp cocktail, buckets of fries and an endless stream of white wine and champagne.

Sherman and fellow “SNL” castmember Veronica Slowikowska huddled in a red leather corner booth over dirty martinis, while Marcello Hernandez and girlfriend Ana Amelia Batlle Cabral mingled at the bar with Adam DiMarco. Photographers, meanwhile, made the rounds among some of Hollywood’s newest breakout stars, including “Sterling Point’s” Amélie Hoeferle, Rubin and Ruffalo, as well as “The Shards” stars Igby Rigney and Hayes Warner. One surprise guest, podcast host Adam Friedland, seemed perfectly at ease — even without an interlocking-C accessory in tow. “They just told me to come here. I don’t know what I’m doing,” he joked in his usual deadpan. “What is this event? I thought it was a runway. Is it a runway? I’m gonna be useless.”

Downstairs, a more clandestine party unfolded. The waiting area outside the bathroom was transformed into a series of photo ops, including a deep-maroon couch beneath Chanel signage and, across the room, a backlit alcove with a vintage rotary phone made for posing. The bathroom itself, wrapped in mirrors and stocked with Chanel beauty products, became a gathering point for the fashion set, who crowded in for mirror selfies.

As the night wore on, the lock rocking of Balu Brigada gave way to a more mellow DJ set while desserts such as pavlova, chocolate mousse and mini profiteroles made their rounds. On the way out, guests were ushered through the restaurant’s boulangerie for an array of baked goods such as croissants and éclairs to take on their way out. Because, yes, it’s 2026 and models eat carbs!
