Taiwan Creative Content Fest Adds Spotlight Screenings to Court International Buyers
by Naman Ramachandran · VarietyThe 2026 Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) will introduce Spotlight Screenings for the first time this November, giving international buyers an early look at two high-profile Taiwanese titles ahead of business meetings at TCCF Market.
TCCF Market, the transactional hub of the festival, will bring together 107 exhibitors from seven countries this year – Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, France and the Philippines. The event continues to serve as a connector between Taiwan and the global content industry, with a particular focus on rights transactions for film, television and IP properties. Exhibitors in IP categories such as publishing, comics and characters have grown by 13% from last year, reflecting a broader industry push to adapt established fan bases into screen projects and licensing deals.

Taiwan Creative Content Agency chair Sue Wang said the market has long been the bridge between overseas film and television players and Taiwan’s homegrown content, and that this year’s inaugural Spotlight Screenings give buyers and partners a rare early look at finished work before the business meetings get underway. She said her ambition for TCCF goes beyond running a trade show: she wants it to stand as a dependable ally to Taiwan’s cultural content sector, pulling different disciplines and technologies together to open up fresh cross-border partnerships and cement Taiwan’s standing in international screen production.
The Spotlight Screenings mark TCCF’s first tie-up with Vieshow Cinemas, staged at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Nangang, and will let visiting buyers, international press and other industry guests screen two flagship titles before deals are struck, with an eye toward driving overseas sales and rights transactions for Taiwanese content.
The first screening, on Nov. 7, will feature “April,” which follows a migrant caregiver working in a Hakka community in Pingtung, Taiwan, who returns home to find her family estranged and sets out to mend fractured relationships. The film stars Liu Kuan-ting, Angel Aquino, Esther Huang, Kaiser Chuang, Yu Tzu-yu and Shih Ming-shuai. It was selected for the 2025 Tokyo International Film Festival and picked up multiple nominations at the 2026 Taipei Film Awards, including best actress.
The second screening, on Nov. 8, will showcase the series “See You At 11pm,” a fantasy romance spanning Taiwan and Singapore that moves between the realms of the living and the dead. Co-produced by Taiwan’s Three-Giant Production and Singapore’s Mediacorp, the series stars Taiwanese actors Liu Hsiu-fu, Chloe Xiang, Wu Nien-hsuan, Peter Ho, Kimi Hsia and Morni Chang, alongside Singaporean actors Mark Kok Huang Lee, Gavin Teo Chong Ze and Hong Ling.
A total of 38 international companies and organizations will take part in TCCF Market this year, with a number of newcomers spanning television, animation and distribution. They include Nippon TV, which launched Japan’s original commercial television service; GMA Network, among the biggest commercial broadcasters in the Philippines; Madgic Distribution and Zephyr Animation, two French studios focused on children’s animation; the studio behind South Korea’s “Washz” healing-character franchise, BASH; and Thailand’s Chada Entertainment, led by veteran producer Shee Heng Kuek, who is based in Taiwan.
A handful of South Korean regional government bodies will step into TCCF Market as delegation leads for the first time this year, among them Bucheon City, the Gwangju Information & Content Agency (GICON) and the Daegu Digital Innovation Promotion Agency (DIP). Thailand, meanwhile, will mount a national pavilion put together by the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) and the Thai Animation and Computer Graphics Association (TACGA), joined for the first time by the Thai Association of Boys Love Content (TBLC).
The Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) is back for its third straight year and will introduce two of its member companies to the market for the first time: animation IP house Sunwoo & Company and JTBC’s SLL Joongang. They arrive alongside KOCCA regulars KBS Media and Studio S, the SBS-affiliated production arm, plus other returning exhibitors Mediacorp of Singapore and Japan’s TV Tokyo.
Locally, 69 Taiwanese companies will exhibit this year, drawn from television, animation, publishing, gaming and marketing-focused firms. The lineup includes Sanlih E-Television, Videoland, the Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association (CCPA), and Taiwan Broadcasting System outlets Public Television Service and Hakka TV. Newcomers to the market this year include STR Network and Joint Journey Creative, plus So-net Entertainment Taiwan, Gamania and Hope Content Marketing, reflecting how broad Taiwan’s content industry has become.
TCCF Market will again organize itself around five zones – the Copyright Transaction Zone, Production Resource Zone, Animation & Visual Technologies Zone, National Pavilions and Industry Press Conferences – bringing together production, distribution and investment professionals across television, animation, gaming and publishing to promote IP adaptation and cross-border collaboration.
The 2026 TCCF will run from Nov. 6-9 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
