Epsilon Film to Launch Pre-Sales on Animated Film ‘Nessie Junior’ at AFM (EXCLUSIVE)

by · Variety

“Nessie Junior,” the first development project from recently formed sales agency Epsilon Film, is set to make waves as an animated movie project highlight at the AFM with pre-sales kicking off in November in Las Vegas.

“Nessie Junior” is a high-end CGI-animated movie based on the tale of the Loch Ness Monster, the mythical creature that has enchanted sightseers in the Scottish Highlands ever since it was first, allegedly, spotted. The beautiful lake of Loch Ness, overlooked by the ruins of Urquhart Castle, has become a highly popular holiday destination.

The film features local fisherman, Mylo, who claims to have been attacked by the creature, and who runs a Loch Ness Monster tourist show on the banks of the loch. His teenage daughter, Kellina, doesn’t believe his stories, nor does she believe in any of the myths of Loch Ness … but that all changes when she meets an actual, young Nessie named Fin.

“And so begins a tale of friendship and caution, loyalty and betrayal, fun and breathtaking adventure as the pair team up to uncover the sea creature’s family secrets hidden in the water’s depths,” Epsilon says in a statement.

The producers are Matthias Drescher, known for “Shifting the Blame” and the Emmy-winning “War of Lies,” along with Ulrich Schwarz, co-producer of Constantin Film’s “Dragon Rider” and producer of the Netflix sci-fi thriller “Stowaway.” Robert Chandler, whose producer credits include “The Amazing Maurice” and “The Canterville Ghost,” serves as executive producer.

The first animation studio to join the project is the highly experienced M.A.R.K.13, based in Stuttgart, which is known for its work on popular films such as “Vic the Viking and the Magic Sword” and “Maya the Bee.” Epsilon Film is on board as co-producer and sales company.

The film’s development is co-financed by regional film funder Medienförderung Baden-Württemberg (MFG).

Epsilon will be attending the upcoming AFM and presenting an initial teaser trailer to begin presales on “Nessie Junior.” Epsilon will be found at Las Vegas’ Palm Casino Resort on the 10th floor, in Suite 225.

Epsilon is a joint venture between Alice von Einem (née Buquoy) and Julia Weber, two former Global Screen executives, and the Beta Group.
