‘The Wrecking Crew’ Trailer: Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista are Butt-Kicking Half-Brothers in Prime Video Action Comedy
by Jack Dunn · VarietyPrime Video has released the trailer for “The Wrecking Crew,” a new film starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista. The action comedy hits the streamer on Jan. 28.
The film’s official synopsis reads, “In this action comedy, two estranged half-brothers, Jonny (Jason Momoa) and James (Dave Bautista) are forced to reunite after their father’s mysterious death. As they set out to uncover the truth, buried secrets resurface and loyalties are tested, unveiling a conspiracy that can tear their family apart. Together, they are ready to wreck anything that gets in their way.”

In the trailer, we see Momoa and Bautista fighting off Yakuza, zooming down the freeway in high-speed car chases, and avoiding certain death in hectic gun battles. In one scene, co-star Stephen Root tells Bautista’s James, “I guarantee you’ll end up poking a bear that doesn’t want to be poked.” Bautista grumbles back, “Take my word for it when I tell you that I’m the bear.”
Bautista and Momoa star alongside Claes Bang, Temuera Morrison, Jacob Batalon, Frankie Adams, Miyavi, Root and Morena Baccarin.
Momoa, best known for playing Aquaman in the pre-James Gunn DCU, most recently starred in Warner Bros. $950 million hit, “A Minecraft Movie.” His other recent film credits include “The Trainer,” “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and “Fast X.”
Bautista reached superstar status after starring as Drax in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise. His most recent film credits include “Trap House,” “Afterburn,” “The Naked Gun” and “In the Lost Lands.”
Ángel Mauel Soto serves as director with a script from Jonathan Tropper. Producers include Bautista, Mamoa, Jeff Fierson, Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris.
