Geraldine Viswanathan Joins Amy Poehler and Mike Schur’s Peacock Comedy ‘Dig’

Geraldine Viswanathan has joined the cast of “Dig,” the upcoming comedy series Amy Poehler and Mike Schur created for Peacock.

Per the official logline, the series follows “four women working at an archeological dig in Greece who are at wildly different crossroads in their lives. When the team uncovers a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, they find themselves at the center of a high-stakes international conspiracy.”

Viswanathan will play Dylan, who “returns to the dig in Greece on a whim to take care of some unfinished business” after a five-year absence.

In addition to Viswanathan and Poehler, the cast of “Dig” includes Hugh Laurie, who plays Neville, “a British professor who sincerely loves archaeology and strives to uphold the traditions of this dying profession. He fancies himself an inspiring mentor to everyone who works at the site.” Details regarding Poehler’s character are not yet known.

Viswanathan’s prominent credits include the Marvel film “Thunderbolts” as well as Ethan Coen’s “Drive-Away Dolls,” Cory Finley’s “Bad Education” and Kay Cannon’s “Blockers.” On TV, she appeared in “Miracle Workers,” which ran on TBS from 2019 to 2023.
