Spotify Launches ‘Party of the Year’ Campaign for Users to Revisit Listening Habits

by · Variety

Spotify is celebrating its 20th anniversary by launching a fan experience looking back on listening habits throughout the years, like something akin to a personalized time capsule.

The streaming service rolled out “Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s)” on the Spotify app on Tuesday morning, allowing users to unlock a variety of features that highlight their experiences since joining the platform. As part of the activation, users can revisit their first day on Spotify, the first song they streamed, the total number of unique songs that they’ve played, and their most-streamed artist of all time.

Additionally, a custom playlist of any given user’s top 120 most-played tracks, complete with play counts, will be rolled out to each Spotify listener.

Both premium subscribers and free users will have access to “Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s).” Like with Spotify Wrapped, each data story comes with its own custom share card that can be posted to social media.

As part of its 20-year celebration, Spotify revealed for the first time the most streamed artists, songs, albums, podcasts and audiobooks in history. Taylor Swift was, unsurprisingly, named the most streamed artist of all time on Spotify, while Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti” was the most streamed album of all time. The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” was the most streamed song, while the Joe Rogan Experience was the most streamed podcast. And, to cap it off, Sarah J. Maas’ “A Court of Thorns and Roses” was the most streamed audiobook in premium of all time.
