Nile Media Boards Documentary on World Record Hurdler Tobi Amusan (EXCLUSIVE)

‘Homecoming: The Tobi Amusan Story’ Trailer

Nile Media Entertainment Group has boarded a new documentary from ATHLST and MagicLine Films about world record hurdler Tobi Amusan. Nile Media will rep global sales on “Homecoming: The Tobi Amusan Story.”

Amusan became world record holder in the 100m hurdles in 2022 and is also a three-time Diamond League champion. ATHLST Studios CEO Lanre Aina and Sulaiman Folarin co-direct the documentary.

“This documentary is a window into my world,” she said. “It’s about the sweat, tears, and countless hours of training that go into those few seconds on the track.”

Banijay Germany to Adapt ‘MasterChef,’ ‘Survivor’

Banijay Germany announced today that its entertainment label, Brainpool, will produce local adaptations of “MasterChef” and “Survivor” in partnership with AcunMedya. Both shows will air on the German channel Sport1. Represented globally by Banijay Entertainment, “MasterChef” was created by Franc Roddam and received more than 70 local commissions, adding up to more than 700 seasons, making it the world’s most successful cooking TV format according to Guinness World Records. “Survivor” was created by Charlie Parsons and has been adapted 50 times, totaling more than 400 seasons, making it one of the most successful reality formats of all time.

All3Media Sells ‘Black Snow’ Ahead of Season 2 Debut

All3Media has closed a raft of deals for the first season of Goalpost Pictures’ mystery drama “Black Snow,” including Prime Video in Africa, Acorn Media for Spain and Spanish-speaking Andorra, Blue Entertainment for German-speaking Switzerland and Lichtenstein and RTBF for French-speaking Belgium. Originally produced for Stan in Australia and Sundance Now in the U.S., the series stars Travis Fimmel (“Dune: Prophecy”) as Detective James Cormack in a classic whodunit that has already pulled strong ratings in several countries. All3Media has also signed deals for the second season of the show – which will bow on New Year’s Day in Australia – to TV4 (Switzerland), MTV OY (Finland), Magenta TV (Germany), Canal+ (Austria), Cosmote (Greece) and Sýn hf (Iceland), OSN+ and OSNtv in the Middle East and TVNZ in New Zealand.

BBC Studios Natural History Goes Dutch

BBC Studios and Dutch public broadcaster NPO have unveiled a new output deal for natural history content in the Netherlands. The multi-year deal will give NPO first-look on all BBC Studios’ natural history titles, which will appear across the company’s linear channels and SBOD and FVOD platforms. Existing titles in the deal include “Mammals,” Changing Planet: Coral Special,” “Planet Earth III,” “Frozen Planet II” and the upcoming “Asia,” among others.
