“We look forward to honoring Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick at our 40th Moving Image Awards,” said Lustig. “Not only have their individual careers been remarkable in their variety and longevity, but now they have teamed up to make a movie as a family, bringing together their talents as actors, directors, writers, producers and musicians.”

Aron’s tribute recognizes the executive’s “tireless commitment to the theatrical moviegoing experience,” per the company. Aron, who has been CEO since 2016, has helped transform the movie theater chain into the largest in the U.S. and the world. Across its 1,000 movie theaters, AMC serves more than 250 million guests annually.

“We are a museum devoted to all aspects of the moving image. We value highly the communal moviegoing experience,” said Barker. “There is no better time than now to honor Adam Aron’s leadership of AMC Entertainment. He has sustained and revitalized going to the movies for audiences everywhere. When theatrical exhibition faced profound challenges, he helped guide the company back to strength.”

The evening will featuring a cocktail reception, awards presentation in the Sumner M. Redstone Theater and a seated dinner in the Hearst Lobby, during which the honorees will be joined by friends, colleagues, fellow industry decision makers, patrons and special guest presenters.

“We want to thank Adam Aron, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick for allowing us to honor them at the Museum, at a time when we are experiencing incredible growth and with exciting new developments on the horizon,” said Aziz Isham, MoMI’s executive director. “Funds raised at the gala will go towards supporting all of our activities for our more than 300,000 annual visitors, from our acclaimed screening series to our education programs which attract more than 70,000 students a year.”
