‘CoComelon’ Movie Sets SZA, Nicholas Hoult, Sarah Sherman to Lead Voice Cast

CoComelon: The Movie” has unveiled its cast, with SZA, Nicholas Hoult and Sarah Sherman set to voice new characters in the theatrical spinoff of the beloved children’s series.

Other newcomers to the movie’s cartoon universe are Ike Barinholtz, Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson, Matt Friend, Rhys Darby and Cristo Fernández. They’ll be joined by familiar faces from the TV show, including Connor Esterson as JJ, Camden Brooks as Cody, Olivia London Leyva as Nina and Aerina DeBoer as CeCe.

“CoComelon: The Movie” is slated to release in theaters on Feb. 19, 2027. Plot details haven’t been revealed, but a press release teases an “epic adventure” that “invites families to go beyond the world of ‘CoComelon’ that they know, following JJ, his friends, and an exciting new cast of characters on a cinematic journey filled with original music and rich storytelling.”

“CoComelon” began on YouTube and turned into a globe-spanning phenomenon, expanding into consumer products, streaming music, games and live entertainment. The show got a major boost on Netflix, where it was a consistent draw for young viewers and inspired spinoffs such as “CoComelon Lane,” “CoComelon Classroom,” “Cody Time,” “Nina’s Familia” and “JJ’s Animal Time.” The program will head to Disney+ in 2027 after Netflix declined to renew its license.

“CoComelon: The Movie” will be released by Universal Pictures and produced by Moonbug Entertainment, Flywheel Media, Prime Focus Studios, DreamWorks Animation, and with animation by the DNEG Group. Kat Good, a story artist on “Kung Fu Panda,” is directing. Songwriter Justin Tranter, whose collaborations span work with Chappell Roan, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, is serving as executive music producer.
