The filmmaker said he believed in the universal themes of “All in Favor,” because it tells a story that “can reach, entertain, and move people from many countries.”
Requejo’s short came out in 2021 and went on to win more than 100 international awards, earned a nomination at the Goya Awards, and was shortlisted for an Oscar. It was then turned into a stage play, which he co-wrote with Javier Lorenzo and Raul Barranco. The stage version premiered in Buenos Aires in April 2023.
Newen is handling international sales on the project and will present it buyers at the American Film Festival.
“Like the short film and subsequent stage play that preceded it, this is an incredibly brave and important film that uses humour to tackle a very modern and universal subject with compassion and understanding,” said Alice Damiani, SVP of international film sales at Newen Connect.
“All in Favor” is currently in production and is expected to deliver during the third quarter of 2025.
