Singer-bassist Geddy Lee shared his thoughts about playing Sphere in an announcement statement. “When I first heard of Sphere, I thought to myself, ‘wow, what a shame that Rush is no longer touring, because this venue sounds tailor made for the kind of visual attitude with which we have always designed our shows.’ Normally we spend months designing the visual effects for our shows and this scenario seemed like the cherry on top of the ice cream for our design team. But life is nothing if not surprising and now, here we are, living and touring in the present tense and we are able to make that particular dream come true.”
He continued, “We are presently working hard to expand our touring concepts and concoct some new madness to suit this incredible venue and musically perform the kind of show we’ve been doing in some of our ‘one off’ cities. Meaning playing all of ‘2112’ and all of ‘Moving Pictures’ along with an array of other songs. We are so effin’ excited to make use of this incredible opportunity to please our fans both visually and viscerally- from wherever they might fly in from. Gonna be so much fun.”
It’s typical for any Sphere residency to stay in place for much longer than five dates, with additional shows being added indefinitely as the first ones sell out. That seems likely to be the case with Rush, as just five shows would amount to more of a mini-residency by Sphere standards.
Most acts who play Sphere do it well apart from any standard touring plans, but Rush’s opening in Las Vegas will fairly quickly follow the wrap-up of their international dates in April. The group is currently still in the midst of a North American tour that will continue through Dec. 17. On Jan. 15, starting in Buenos Aires, they embark on an international leg that seems them touring steadily through what is currently scheduled to be a tour close on April 10 in Helsinki.
Subscribers to Rush Backstage and Rush Newsletter subscribers will have their own bonus two-hour window to purchase VIP and Travel packages beginning this Friday at 10 a.m. PT. The artist presale begins next Wednesday, also at 10 a.m. PT. Fans will be asked to register through Seated and receive a presale code offering early access to tickets.

Rush was believed to be done for good after the death of original drummer Neal Peart in 2020, but the remaining members, Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson, surprised everyone with the announcement that they would be taking to the road in 2026 with former Jeff Beck drummer Anika Nilles. After initial skepticism among some fans, this year’s shows and Nilles’ role in them have been nearly unanimously well-received by the Rush faithful.
