by · Variety

“Suits L.A.” producer Gene Klein has boarded international crime thriller “Bombay Noir” under his P3 Media banner, which he runs with Adam Ciralsky (“The Recruit”).

Created by Sai Pawar, who was second unit director on “Shantaram,” the ten-part drama from 4 AM Film Studios follows an FBI agent as he investigates the murder of an American couple in Mumbai.

FBI Special Agent Vince Cunningham is on the case as he delves into a mystery surrounding the couple’s last moments – but what starts out as a double homicide spirals into a tangled diplomatic web that soon starts ratcheting up the body count.

Omega managing director Danny Goldman will be previewing creative material during upcoming confab Content London as part of the co-production and pre-sale financing strategy on the series.

4 AM Film Studios (CBC’s “Something Undone”), which is run by producers Max Topplin and Maya Heble, specializes in elevated genre content.

“When Max first shared this gritty series grounded in a faraway yet familiar place, I was hooked,” said Klein. “An internationally-set character-driven crime thriller is a natural fit for P3’s brand.”

P3 has just delivered the second season of Netflix spy series “The Recruit” and is also working on hostage drama “The Envoy” at Hulu and feature doc “Take No Prisoners.”
