‘One Battle After Another,’ ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ and ‘Sinners’ Land Costume Designers Guild Nominations: Full List
by Jazz Tangcay · VarietyThe Costume Designers Guild has announced nominations for the 28th Costume Designers Guild Awards, with “One Battle After Another,” “Sinners,” “Weapons,” “Avatar: Fire and Ash” and “Bugonia” among the titles landing nominations.
Colleen Atwood proves to be a triple theat. Atwood is nominated in the excellence in contemporary film for “One Battle After Another.” She is also nominated alongside Mark Sutherland in excellence in contemporary television for “Wednesday” and for designing the costumes of Lady Gaga’s “Dead Dance” music video.

“Wicked: For Good’s” Paul Tazewell is nominated in the excellence in sci-fi/fantasy film category. Earlier this year, he won for “Wicked” and went on to make history as the first Black man to win the best costume design Oscar.
Lindsay Pugh was a double nominee for “Hedda” (excellence in period film) and “How to Train Your Dragon” (excellence in sci-fi/fantasy film). Alix Friedberg also scored double nods for “Palm Royale” (excellence in period television) and “Tron: Ares” (excellence in sci-fi/fantasy film).
Ruth E. Carter is nominated for her work on “Sinners” in the excellence in period film. Rounding out the category are the costume designers from “Frankenstein” (Kate Hawley), “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” (Anna Mary Scott Robbins), “Hamnet” (Malgosia Turzanska) and “Hedda” (Lindsay Pugh).
Notable misses were “Marty Supreme” (Miyako Bellizzi) and “The Testament of Ann Lee” (Małgorzata Karpiuk).
On the TV side, Emmy winners Michael Wilkinson (“Andor”) and Kameron Lennox (“The Studio”) landed nominations with the guild.
The CDGA ceremony will take place on Feb. 12, 2026, at The Ebell of Los Angeles, Calif. Winners in the nine competitive categories will be announced live at the event.
