Fox’s “Baywatch” continues the legacy of the original show, which premiered in 1989. The series featured stars like Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra and Jason Momoa. “Baywatch” was the most-watched show in the world, airing in more than 200 countries and reaching more than a billion viewers weekly at its peak in 1996. The 2017 film “Baywatch” featured Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron taking up the mantle as beach protectors for a new generation.

The new series premieres in January, and follows Amell as the son of Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff), serving as Baywatch Captain, with his own child (Belkin) arriving to also carry on the family legacy.

Along with Amell, Belkin, Beck and Harrison, the new “Baywatch” stars Shay Mitchell as Trina, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad and Brooks Nader as Selene. Livvy Dunne makes her acting debut as Grace and David Chokachi reprises his role as Cody Madison in recurring roles.

Fox Entertainment and Fremantle are co-producing, with Matt Nix as executive producer and showrunner. McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz are executive producers.
