‘Gird Your Loins’: The Best ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Merch Yet Arrives Ahead of the Sequel

The lead-up to “The Devil Wears Prada 2” has been more of a product push than a press push — fitting for a film centered on the fashion industry. In the weeks leading up to its May 1 release, the film has touted partnerships with Tresemme, Tweezerman, Loreal, Grey Goose and more. While I don’t necessarily see the need for a branded version of hairspray or “cerulean” vodka, I am charmed by a new line of graphic tees inspired by the original film.
Amazon released today its official “Devil Wears Prada 2” merch storefront, stocked with t-shirts donning the film’s most iconic lines such as “Girdle Your Loins,” “Florals? In Spring? Groundbreaking.” and “Please bore someone else with your questions.” The new drop also includes themed mugs, coffee tumblers, pillows and phone cases.

The wide variety of t-shirts are the best part of the lineup, and make the perfect outfit to wear to the theater during your sequel screening.
The long-awaited follow-up sees the return of Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling. The story mirrors what’s actually happening in publishing, as it reportedly follows Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing. The imperious editor will face off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs. Though Hathaway is returning, her character quit her job at Runway magazine at the end of the first film and went to work at a newspaper, so it’s not known how she’ll make her return.
