Founded in 2002 by John Wyatt, Cinespia began with a single screening of “Strangers on a Train” and has since grown into one of Los Angeles’ most recognizable film events, drawing crowds of up to 4,000 attendees per night. The series has expanded beyond Hollywood Forever to venues including the Greek Theatre, the Los Angeles Theatre and the Rose Bowl.

“Reaching 25 years is both surreal and incredibly meaningful,” Wyatt said in a statement. “What started as a simple idea, to watch great films with others in a unique setting, has grown into something much bigger.”

The series is known for blending film screenings with live DJ sets, themed programming and large-scale audience experiences, becoming a staple of the city’s summer cultural calendar.

In addition to the anniversary programming, Cinespia will partner with See’s Candies on a limited-edition, co-branded box available exclusively at screenings, marking both the company’s 105th anniversary and the series’ 25th season. Additional titles for the 2026 lineup will be announced at a later date.
