‘Phineas and Ferb,’ ‘Sesame Street,’ ‘100 Foot Wave’ Among Producers Guild Awards Nominees in Sports, Children’s and Short-Form

The Producers Guild of America is continuing to unveil nominations for its 37th annual PGA Awards — and on Friday, the org revealed nods in the sports, children’s and short-form program categories. Among the nominees are last year’s winner for outstanding children’s program, “Sesame Street,” which is back to face off among this year’s contenders.

Other nominees that are returning include “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” and “Hard Knocks” in the sports field; “SpongeBob SquarePants” in the children’s category; and “Hacks: Bit By Bit” and “Overtime with Bill Maher” in the short-form program field.

The 37th Annual Producers Guild Awards will announce winners at the awards show on February 28.

Per the org, the annual PGA ceremony “celebrates the work of producing and recognizes standout achievements across film, television, and emerging media, highlighting the professionals whose decisions and oversight have made superlative contributions to the projects shaping the industry and culture at large.”

Final polls open for the sports, children’s and short-form categories on Monday, Jan. 5, and those polls end on Monday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. PT.

Nominees for the innovation award and documentary motion pictures were revealed on Dec. 9; producers set to be honored at this year’s ceremony include Amy Pascal (David O. Selznick Achievement Award), Mara Brock Akil (Norman Lear Achievement Award) and Jason Blum (Milestone Award). Next up, theatrical motion pictures, animated motion pictures, TV series/specials and televised/streamed motion pictures nominees will be announced on Friday, Jan. 9.

“The White Lotus: Unpacking the Episode”

Awards in these categories are presented to the production as a whole, not to individual producers.
