Blink49 Studios is launching a new global initiative, Creator Studios, and has tapped producer, entrepreneur and media leader Mickey Meyer to lead it as president of Global Creator Studios.

Creator Studios will focus on “partnering with creators who have built meaningful, direct relationships with audiences, with an emphasis on developing scalable IP across scripted, unscripted and digital-first formats,” per the company, while also supporting development, financing, production and global distribution partnership.

Blink49 is the production-distribution venture founded in 2021 by global TV veteran John Morayniss, with backing from Fifth Season and Bell Media. The establishment of a separate division focused on social media creators is a sign of how much demand there is in the marketplace for creator content among advertisers, brands, sponsors and consumers.

“The most compelling creative voices of this era aren’t waiting to be discovered; they’ve already built the audiences. What’s been missing is the institutional infrastructure to match that ambition: the development, the craft, the financing, and the production muscle to turn a moment into something that endures,” said Meyer. “That’s the gap Blink49 Creator Studios is built to close. I’ve spent my career at this intersection, and I don’t think there’s a more important place to be building right now.”

Meyer has spent more than two decades working across digital media, independent production and the creator economy; he previously worked at Maker Studios, where he helped build the YouTube-native content network, and later served as president of Group Nine Studios.

Meyer also co-founded the creator-driven IP-focused investment fund Altitude and the creator-driven comedy studio Jash, launched with Sarah Silverman, Reggie Watts, Tim & Eric and Michael Cera. Recently, Meyer co-founded the independent film and television production company The Unreasnble alongside Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe.

At Blink49, Meyer will report to Tara Long, president of global unscripted television. He is based in Los Angeles.

“Mickey brings a deep understanding of both digital-native talent and premium content creation,” said Long. “We are doubling down on the creator space as a key area of growth for Blink49 and see a clear opportunity to build a studio that supports creators in expanding their ideas into enduring IP. Mickey’s experience across production, partnerships, and the creator ecosystem gives him a strong foundation to lead this effort globally.”
