In an inspiring post on Threads, user @abang_haziman shared his incredible journey of triumphing over cancer while successfully completing his medical studies.
“Beat cancer, passed my professional exam, and received the surgery book prize. Alhamdulillah, I’ve reached my goal!” he wrote in his post.
A year off to fight the battle
The post included photos of him resting in a hospital bed during his medical treatment, contrasted with radiant pictures of him wearing a white lab coat, holding his award certificate, and celebrating with loved ones.
Speaking directly to WORLD OF BUZZ, Haziman clarified the timeline of his battle, sharing how he had to pause his academic journey to focus entirely on his health.
“Actually, I took a year off to focus on my treatment.
“My cancer journey was in 2023. I’m sorry if my caption gave you the wrong impression,” Haziman shared with WORLD OF BUZZ.
Despite taking a whole year away from medical school to undergo treatment, Haziman returned with renewed determination, ultimately passing his professional exams and even bagging the prestigious Surgery Book Prize for his outstanding academic performance.

When asked to share words of encouragement for others who might currently be facing daunting health challenges or difficult life hurdles, Haziman offered a heartwarming reminder about faith and patience.
“Remember, everything happens for a reason.
“Maybe your path is rough because Allah has something bigger and better planned for you. Allah tests us because He loves us, and He knows that we are capable of getting through it,” he said.
