KLCC Twin Towers in India?! Here’s What We Know About the Viral Lookalike

by · WORLD OF BUZZ

If you happened to scroll past social media recently and thought Kuala Lumpur’s iconic Petronas Twin Towers somehow relocated across the ocean, you are definitely not alone!

Viral videos and photos circulating on Instagram & Threads have caught the attention of netizens worldwide, showing what appears to be a dazzling, full-scale replica of Malaysia’s most famous landmark standing tall in India.

Built for the festive celebrations in Kalyani

Kosmo! reported that the massive structure is known locally as the Kalyanpur Twin Tower and was erected in Kalyani to celebrate the grand traditional festival of Durga Puja.

Standing at a staggering height of 170 feet (52 meters) with a width of about 150 feet (approximately 46 meters), the impressive masterpiece was built by a dedicated team of 70 workers.

While it looks remarkably like a permanent skyscraper at first glance, it is actually a temporary festival pavilion designed to welcome crowds of visitors and worshippers during the festive season.

Crafted using bamboo, thermocol & vibrant LED lights

Building a 52-meter replica of the world’s tallest twin towers without concrete takes incredible creativity and craftsmanship!

Instead of heavy construction materials, the workers assembled a frame using a combination of:

  • Bamboo and wooden poles
  • Plywood, cloth, and ropes
  • Polystyrene (thermocol) sheets arranged meticulously to recreate the famous tiered architectural facade.

To top it all off, the entire structure was fitted with dynamic LED light displays, illuminating the night sky with vibrant colors and mimicking the glowing silhouette of the real KLCC.
