Spider-Man: Brand New Day Hits RM30 Million Box Office, Marking Sony Pictures Malaysia’s Biggest Opening Weekend Ever

Spider-Man swung into the local cinemas on Thursday as the biggest summer blockbuster movie this year, with record-breaking Box-Office performances and is now one of Sony Pictures Malaysia’s Biggest Opening Weekend of All Time.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day bagged a huge chunk of Malaysia’s box office in its 4-day opening weekend with a Box Office of RM 30 million. Over the weekend, an estimated million Malaysians flocked to catch Spider-Man: Brand New Day in cinemas, which is coined as THE EVENT OF THE YEAR by fans of the franchise and general moviegoers.

“With all the excitement around this film, we wanted to do our part to elevate the experience of our movie-goers with initiatives like a Spider-Man gathering at select cinemas during Spider-Man Day as well as lighting up the city with drone and fireworks performance. Recording a high 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film is the highest-scoring MCU Spider-Man movie among audiences so far. #SpidermanBrandNewDay has received great reviews from local media during the exclusive press screening last week.
