Watch: Little Blue Heroes from Mayo visit Leinster House

A group of seven Little Blue Heroes from Co Mayo were welcomed to Leinster House with their families for a VIP tour this morning.

Little Blue Heroes is a charity led by serving and retired gardaí, along with members of the community.

It was set up in 2017 to support families of children with serious illnesses and to empower children through positive community engagement.

Two of Siobhan Coakley's children, Robert and Karen, are honorary gardaí in the programme.

"It is a wonderful organisation. It brings happy days to kids that often have very long, boring days in hospitals and appointments," she said.

"They're super-excited to be here today to visit the Dáil and meet some of the politicians and tell them their opinions."
