BBC The One Show's Alex Jones caught off-guard as guest barks 'how dare you'

The One Show presenter Alex Jones was given a telling off during the popular BBC programme after asking a guest a rather cheeky question.

Alex and her co-host Roman Kemp were back on the famous green sofa on Thursday (November 28), interviewing guests Sara Pascoe, Anne-Marie Duff and Mark Bonnar. The show also shared some touching tributes to unsung heroes across the UK who are playing their part in charitable fund raising and helping young children.

But during their chat with Sara, Alex's line of questioning appeared to catch the comedian off-guard which led her to jokingly snap back.

Discussing Sara's new tour and becoming a mother, Alex asked: "Now, is this tour just to avoid bedtime?" Sara replied: "How dare you? How dare you?".

"It's about my passion for stand-up comedy! That's just the sort of side benefit," she joked.

But Alex's line of questioning was not as far-fetched as it first seemed, as comedian Sara previously admitted that she was participating in the gig to escape her kids in the evenings.

Announcing the details of her tour earlier this month, she said: "I have grown to depend on touring, not only because of my deep love of performing stand-up but also to avoid the difficult bedtimes of my unruly children."

Sara Pascoe was forced to set the record straight

Talking about juggling motherhood and her career as a mum of two, Roman asked Sara whether she felt she was now a "better comedian".

She said: "I think I am. I think partly because I became so vulnerable, in terms of you don't sleep, you've made these people, you're in charge of everything, it really did make me much more genuine on stage.

Alex and Roman also quizzed Sara on juggling motherhood and her career

"I think I'm much more myself and also, I think it makes you work harder. When you have to leave your house, leave your kids, you want to be good at it and it's going to be worth it."

Asking whether her comedy has changed since she's been a mum, Sara added: "I think I've lost a lot of confidence, I eat off the floor a lot more now," she joked.

She added that she finds it difficult to be a "rock star" now that she has had two children.

The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One
