Travis Kelce Described Taking Taylor Swift to Cleveland Before ‘Encore' Song

Travis Kelce had a great time showing Taylor Swift around his hometown of Cleveland.

In a resurfaced clip from his "New Heights" podcast, Kelce, 36, opened up about taking Swift, also 36, to a Cleveland Cavaliers vs. New York Knicks game during the NBA Eastern Conference Finals at Rocket Arena in May.

"I've been a Cleveland sports fan for my entire life," he shared. "Getting Tay back to Cleveland and showing her my roots is always something I love doing. I showed her The Heights … not this time [but] previously before." (The Cleveland Heights is a historic area of suburbs that sit on the terrain rising up from University Circle.)

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end added, "We came in this time strictly just for the game, but getting back to Cleveland is always something I love doing."

On Friday, September 25, Swift released a song on her Life of a Showgirl: The Encore album titled "Cleveland!"

"But my baby likes what he likes, oh-woah, oh-oh / He already took me to Cleveland," Swift sang. "And showed me The Heights, so hate all you like / This is the love of my life, hey, hey, hey."

In another verse, she added, "The taste of me is acquired, but it's his favorite dish / He says I look like an angel, they say, ‘I hate that -' / There, that house with the porch is where he lived as a kid / He's been saying forever, must not have read that."

Swift and Kelce started dating in 2023. In August 2025, they announced their engagement. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨," Swift captioned a joint post with Kelce that showed him getting down on one knee and popping the question in his backyard. On July 3, the duo tied the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Through the years, the duo have supported each other and their respective careers. Kelce was seen at multiple of Swift's Eras Tour concerts and even joined her on stage in London in June 2024.

More recently, Swift was seen cheering Kelce on at his Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday, September 20. She wore a Chiefs tank top from Wear by Erin Andrews. During the game, she was seen pointing at her engagement ring and wedding band and shouting, "That's my husband!" after the team scored a touchdown.
