Fresno church volunteer arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting three minors

Authorities arrested a 57-year-old man earlier this month on suspicion of illegal sexual acts with three underage victims.

Fresno police spokesperson Lt. Larry Bowlan said the case began Aug. 27. Leaders of a local church alerted authorities that members had raised concerns that Benjamin Mora — a volunteer at the church — had possibly assaulted minors.

Detectives arrested Mora on Sept. 4, accusing him of assaulting the minors beginning in 2025.

Bowlan said Mora was booked into Fresno County Jail on charges related to sexual assault. Booking records show that Mora is being held on $385,000 bail and is still in custody.
