Barry Keoghan has revealed he’s stepping into a "new chapter", after being the target of online abuse.

If you didn't know, the 'Saltburn' actor experienced severe trolling on social media in the aftermath of his split from pop singer Sabrina Carpenter back in December 2024 - and he was subsequently accused of cheating, which he later denied.

Speaking to Variety, Barry said he wants to "step into a new chapter of my life where I let my work speak for me…"

"I want to close the book on it, put my head up, have a smile and enjoy the moment."

"I feel like I just read that line off something. I didn’t, but I did look out the window as I said it and smiled."

Barry is returning to Cannes Film Festival this week for his new film 'Butterfly Jam', from Kantemir Balagov.

The film is set among the Circassian community in Newark, and stars Barry and Riley Keough as siblings running a struggling diner.
