'Elden Ring' movie announces full cast, 2028 release date

April 20 (UPI) -- Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24 have announced the full cast and a 2028 release date for the Elden Ring movie.

Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus), Jonathan Pryce (Game of Thrones), Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation), Ben Whishaw (Fargo Season 4), Havana Rose Liu (Bottoms) will join previously announced star Kit Connor (Heartstopper) in the film.

Other new cast members include Sonoya Mizuno, Ruby Cruz, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird and Peter Serafinowicz.

Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation, Civil War), who worked with several of the cast on prior films, was previously announced to write and direct the adaptation.

Elden Ring is a 2022 dark fantasy action role-playing game from FromSoftware and Bandai Namco. The story follows an exile traversing a world of monsters and demigods.

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin served as a worldbuilding consultant on the game.

The Elden Ring movie will begin production this spring and open in theaters March 3, 2028.
