Post Malone, Barry Manilow cancel concerts
by Karen Butler · UPIMay 3 (UPI) -- Grammy winners Post Malone and Barry Manilow announced this weekend they are canceling numerous upcoming concerts.
"Looking at the upcoming schedule after stagecoach, I came to the realization that what we were trying to do, and what's possible, isn't really lining up," Malone said on his Instagram Story Friday.
"Truth is, I promised y'all beautiful people new music, and I don't have the time to finish it before tour starts," he added.
"We ain't ready for tour just yet, so I'm making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done. That being said, I'm so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y'all."
Malone hopes that postponing the dates on his Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 -- some of which were to also feature Jelly Roll -- will give him the time he needs to complete his next album, The Eternal Buzz.
Meanwhile, Manilow, who has been undergoing treatment for lung cancer, postponed his planned residency in Las Vegas.
"Good news! I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I'm making great progress and look great! Well of course I do! Thank you very much!" Manilow announced on social media Friday.
"All the training and exercising I've put in is paying off. He did say, however, that I'm not quite ready for Vegas. That means I won't be able to return for our May shows at @westgatevegas," he added.
"But the good news is he said I will be ready for my June arena shows in the UK. It's going to be great to see you all in the UK. Westgate Las Vegas is my home away from home...and I'll see you all in July.In the meantime...come to the UK!We'll be there in June and hope you will be too!"
