Jon Hamm plays radio host Heckman in true crime 'American Hostage'
by Fred Topel · UPIMay 5 (UPI) -- MGM+ released the first image of Jon Hamm in the series American Hostage on Tuesday. American Hostage premieres on MGM+ this fall.
Based on the podcast, American Hostage stars Hamm as Fred Heckman, an Indianapolis, Ind. radio host drawn into a hostage drama in the '70s. Giovani Ribisi plays Tony Kiritsis, the hostage taker who demands to be interviewed on air.
One photo shows Hamm in a studio wearing headphones speaking into a microphone. The other shows Hamm and Mireille Enos as Fred's wife, Barbara.
The series will be eight episodes. Shawn Ryan and Eileen Myers co-created the series, showrun and executive produce with Hamm and others.
American Hostage alos stars Kristoffer Polaha and William Jackson Harper. Jonathan Tucker and Kat Cunning have recurring roles.
Sony Pictures Television produces the series.
