Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Nick Reiner's arraignment for the deaths of his parents, Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 68, was pushed to early January as he appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday.

Reiner, 32, faces two charges of first-degree murder in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County for the stabbing deaths of his parents, whose bodies were found in the Brentwood, Calif., home on Sunday.

Reiner made the court appearance after being medically cleared to attend in the morning, but he was not arraigned and will not be required to enter a plea until the Jan. 7 arraignment hearing, KTLA reported.

If convicted, he might face the death penalty, but he also could be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
