A number of roads in Birmingham city centre will have parking suspensions in place for the next 32 hours while filming takes place. The film crew behind the upcoming Peaky Blinders Netflix movie will be in Birmingham shooting a mystery project today, October 21.

Parking suspensions were put in place last night and will finish at 6pm on Tuesday, October 22. Oblik Productions Ltd, the film crew in the city, announced the parking disruption but did not reveal the name of the project it was working on.

However, the firm confirmed to St Helens Star last month that it was filming a Second World War Netflix film called 'The Immortal Man' - widely reported as the title for the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie. And The Star also shared footage of scenes for the film being shot in St Helens, Merseyside, earlier this month.

Parking suspensions, where parking is reserved for a particular purpose, in this case filming, are in place in several city centre roads including Berkley Street, Gas Street, Holliday Street and Bridge Street.

Jo Beckett, Oblik's location manager, wrote in a letter: "Our filming will be taking place for one evening on October 21. Several prep crew will be working on-site beforehand from October 20 in preparation for our filming.

"A full tow-path closure will be in place on Birmingham city centre path/immediate area around Gas Street Basin from October 20 (8am) until October 22 (6pm), so that we can put temporary set dressing in to facilitate our filming and for the safety of our crew and public whilst working near the water.

"This will be facilitated and approved by Canal and River Trust and Film Birmingham. A road closure will also be in place on Gas Street from October 21 (3pm) to October 22 (2am).

"During the preparation and filming period we have requested to temporarily suspend some parking bays on Gas Street, Holiday Street and Bridge Street. Please be assured that we will try hard to minimise any disruption to residents and businesses during our hours of operation."
