BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland 'worries' fans and predicts two things will send him home

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland 'worried' fans on Saturday night as he made a bleak prediction about his chances continuing in the competition. The blind comedian performed first on the live Halloween show with partner Dianne Buswell dressed as zombies.

They earned a solid 26 points for their Samba, but have done much better in earlier routines. And Chris had fans at home worried as he told them the 'maths is against us' as they were performing first and doing a Samba - two things that have cursed others on the BBC show this series.

He said: "We've lost four people two of them on Sambas. We've had four dance-offs and three of them have had people who went out first, so the maths is against us."

Concerned viewers took to X to comment as they said Chris needed the public vote more than ever. One wrote: "Chris with those stats has now got me a little worried, so please make sure we are voting for chris as well as sarah."

A second said: "Guys don’t be fooled by how popular you may think Chris is!!! Especially with them having gone first. We need the make sure we’re voting to keep them in #strictly." A third asked: "Are the producers trying to get rid of Chris this week on #Strictly? Sending him out first with samba is just cruel."

And a third added: "Getting the sense that Chris & Dianne are really going to need the public vote this week…" Heading to receive his critiques from the judges and referring to his costume, Chris warned: "You lot be nice to everybody tonight or I'm going to eat your brains."

Motsi Mabuse told him that he "nailed the character" and had more than survived the opening. Shirley Ballas told him: "You actually overcooked the bounce a little bit." But she added: "Your content was fabulous, your characterisation in the graveyard was amazing, overall you did incredibly well."

Anton Du Beke said Chris had done a 'very good job' but added 'it lacked a bit of fluidity for me'. But he praised Chris for his 'exceptional' timing.

Craig Revel Horwood was tough as always, telling him: "There was a bit of hopping involved and I would like to see more stretch in the upper body." He added that he had his 'shoulders raised' and there was 'no hip action'. But praising the star he said: "I thought you danced with immaculate rhythm and confidence and your acting in that I thought was magnificent."

Chris confessed to host Claudia Winkleman that he's had a difficult week in the training room with Dianne. He said: "Training this week has been hell. There's so many things that you've got to do with the bottom half of your body and the top half has got to pretend that nothing's happening."

Chris and Dianne received a score of 26 points out of 40, getting 5 points from Craig and 7 from the rest of the judges.
