Stephen Graham appears bruised and bloodied in a new teaser for Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight's upcoming series, set to debut on Disney Plus.

The renowned Boiling Point actor is touted to deliver a "knock-out performance" in A Thousand Blows, which will be available on the streaming platform in 2025.

Ahead of its World Premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, Disney Plus unveiled some initial images from the series, which delves into the dangerous world of illicit boxing in Victorian London during the 1880s.

The teaser trailer offers a fresh glimpse of BAFTA award-winning actor Malachi Kirby, known for his role in Steve McQueen's Small Axe, as Hezekiah Moscow, reports the Express.

In A Thousand Blows, the young man "finds himself thrust into the vibrant and violent melting pot of post-industrial revolution London's East End from Jamaica".

The synopsis continues: "Drawn into the criminal underbelly of the thriving boxing scene, he meets Mary Carr (The Crown's Erin Doherty), leader of The Forty Elephants – the notorious all-female London gang – as they battle for survival on the streets.

"As Hezekiah sharpens his new skills, he comes up against Sugar Goodson (Stephen Graham), a seasoned and dangerous boxer and the two are soon locked into an intense rivalry that spills out way beyond the ring."

Originating from the mind of Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, who is concurrently developing a new Peaky Blinders film for Netflix and the BBC, the show is generating significant buzz.

Stephen Graham is set to appear in the upcoming film, a detail that Netflix confirmed just yesterday, adding to the excitement surrounding the Cillian Murphy-led drama.

The movie's cast already boasts names like Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Barry Keoghan, and will also feature Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, and Jay Lycurgo.

Filming commenced last week on the Peaky Blinders film, which is being touted as "an epic continuation of the multi-award-winning gangster saga, set in the lawless streets of Birmingham in the 1900s".

Steven Knight is producing the film alongside Patrick Holland, Cillian Murphy, and Guy Heeley.

A Thousand Blows is set to stream exclusively on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland, Hulu in the U. S. and on Disney+ in select other countries come 2025.
