The Chase star Mark Labbett pictured with ex-wife who looks unrecognisable

The Chase star Mark Labbett's ex-wife looked unrecognisable as the pair were pictured together. Labbett, 59, better known to millions as The Beast, smiled as he posed with Katie 31, during a day out with their son.

Known as a fearsome quizzer, this was a much gentler situation as Mark shared a photo of them together on Instagram as they met up to take their seven-year-old son, Lawrence, to a theme park. He told how they were 'co-parenting' during the day out. Katie, looking completely different from when the pair were together, is seen pouting at the camera as she wears a black-and-white polo neck.

The pair were at The Making of Harry Potter tour in Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and Mark captioned the snap: "Co-parenting in London part one #wbtourlondon. Little Monster loved the Forbidden Forest."

Mark and Katie separated in 2020 after seven years together, with Mark blaming their age gap for the split, the Mirror reports. He said the Covid lockdown sealed things for the couple.

Kate, who works as a nurse, blamed the split on Mark's workload with The Chase, among other things. Mark and Katie first met in 2010 after making a connection on Facebook. She admitted that she had not heard of Mark when she first started dating him. She said about that time: "I had never heard of Mark, or watched The Chase, but my gran mentioned him so I was intrigued.”

They began their relationship properly in 2012 and were engaged the following October. Mark, who is nicknamed The Beast on the ITV quiz show, has now seen his year-long romance with girlfriend Hayley Palmer come to an end.

Mark, meanwhile, has blamed his split from Hayley, just weeks after they celebrated their first anniversary together, on his age, telling The Sun: "It's me, I got old". He went on: "She's [Hayley's] a lovely lady and I was very lucky to date her for a year, and as I said...it's me, I got old. There's been no one since Hayley, I'm not saying there won't be another one. But I'm certainly not looking."
