Kerry Katona breaks silence on 'split' from fiance

Kerry Katona has clarified that her recent announcement of a split from fiancé Ryan Mahoney was merely a joke. The 44-year-old Atomic Kitten star, who has been in a relationship with the 36-year-old fitness trainer since 2018 and got engaged in 2020, left fans stunned when she declared herself single on social media.

The Whole Again singer was visiting her ill mother, Sue, in hospital and interacting with fans on social media when she dropped the supposed bombshell news. When her friend, Danielle Brown asked: "So much love to you both, and is the Dr single?"

Kerry, now an OnlyFans star, cheekily replied: "No, but I am!" However, Kerry has now clarified that she was only joking about parting ways with her partner of six years.

The star penned a message saying: "So I see the papers have taken a joke between me, my mum and best friend about a dr! ! ! ! Ffs I even put a laughing face! ! ! ! My mum has the funniest sense of humour and we was all just playing along with her!"

She continued: "Never thought a journalist would be scrolling through 1,500 comments and run a headline that I have split with @ryanmahoney_7 all because we were trying to cheer my mum up! I've confirmed nothing! ! ! ! ! ! Everyone else could see that this was light humour! ! ! !"

Kerry's fans rallied around her, with some even suggesting she should make more comments for the media to misinterpret. One supporter said: "I think it's funny I'd be making fake news on the daily" followed by a series of laughing emojis.

In an unexpected twist during an interview, Kerry revealed she had offered Ryan a 'free pass' to father children with someone else, as she doesn't want to go through another pregnancy. Speaking to OK! Magazine, she explained: "I don't want to deprive him [though] - in fact, I've given him a pass and said 'if this is something you want to pursue, leave me now! ' I never want someone to not have that feeling of having their own child."

She added confidently: "Me and my kids should be enough for Ryan, and actually, I know we are... I should be more than enough. If I'm not, Ryan can always go off with a younger model and have a baby with her! ".
