The first photos have emerged of Peaky Blinders stars filming the movie version on set in Birmingham. Cillian Murphy is reprising his role as Tommy Shelby in the period gangland drama and was spotted in the city in character.

The 48-year-old star, who won a Best Actor Oscar for his lead role in Oppenheimer, was seen on horseback in Cornwall Street, wearing his trademark flat cap this afternoon, Monday, October 21.

The Irish actor was spotted with fake blood trickling down his cheek while wearing what appeared to be a heavily mud-stained jacket and suit. At another moment he was seen talking to director and creator of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight.
