Google Photos for Android Finally Gains Sticker Creation
by Sai Krishna · Android HeadlinesGoogle Photos Android version finally gets the ability to create stickers from your images. This comes months after the iOS version of the app received this functionality. As the name suggests, this will “effortlessly” turn people, pets, or objects in your images into unique, personalized stickers. This comes at a time when Pixel Studio is losing some key Generative AI tools.
Google Photos for Android can now create stickers from images
With this new addition, there’s no need for special tools or extra apps to generate stickers. To create stickers, open the Google Photos app on your Android phone and select a photo. Here, press and hold the subject to create a sticker. There are a couple of actions available: to copy the sticker, tap Copy to save it to your clipboard, and to share it, tap Share to send it to your friends/family.
Google recommended that you use a photo with a subject that’s clearly defined in the foreground. This will make it easier to create stickers and save and share them through other apps, like WhatsApp or Instagram, to keep the conversations going.
Available on most Android devices
9to5Google reports that Sticker creation is available on most Android devices with the latest update and at least 4GB of RAM. Google Photos v7.64 update is now widely available. That said, the sticker “Collection” feature, which iOS gained in January, should be available with a future update. This will allow you to quickly find and reshare older stickers without the need to recreate your selection from an image every time.
