SH3 closed for 3 hours after serious crash

A crash closed SH3 north of Whanganui for three hours today.

NZTA reported the crash at 10.30, at Westmere north of the Blueskin Road intersection.

Thirty minutes later, NZTA said the road was closed between Western Line and Rapanui Road.

A detour was in place, but there would be delays.

SH3 remains closed north of Whanganui, following a serious crash. Closure points are in place at Western Line and Rapanui Road. Detours have been established. Police SCU investigations will likely result in the road being closed for several hours this afternoon.
