Sony, PlayStation Studios Making Donations to Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Efforts

Millions towards aid for ongoing disaster

by · Push Square

Sony and some of PlayStation's first-party studios have confirmed they're making donations to relief efforts relating to the ongoing Los Angeles fires.

They join other companies and entities that are providing financial support to help those providing aid and rebuilding services in the area.

In a statement on its social channels yesterday, PlayStation's parent company Sony said it will be giving $5 million to the cause:

"Los Angeles has been the home of our entertainment businesses for more than 35 years," reads a joint statement from Sony's Kenichiro Yoshida (chairman and CEO) and Hiroki Totoki (president and COO). "We will continue work with our local business leadership to determine how best Sony group can support relief and recovery efforts in the days ahead."

This has been followed today by pledges from Californian developers Santa Monica Studio, Insomniac Games, and Naughty Dog, all of which are joining Sony in supporting the community and local relief efforts.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with all those affected by the disaster.
