Mumbai: For Shah Rukh Khan fans, November 2 is no ordinary date. It is practically a festival, with thousands of admirers travelling to Mumbai from across India and even overseas to catch a glimpse of their favourite Bollywood superstar outside his iconic residence, Mannat, in Bandra. But this year, the birthday celebrations are set to be different, and the news has left fans disappointed.

Shah Rukh Khan, who will turn 61 on November 2, will reportedly not host his much-awaited #SRKDAY event this year. While fans have been eagerly looking forward to celebrating the special occasion with King Khan, the superstar’s team has now communicated the decision to his fan clubs, citing his upcoming film King as the reason.

A well-placed source informed Siasat.com about the development and revealed what SRK’s team may be planning for his fans instead.

Why Shah Rukh Khan will not meet fans on his birthday

A source from one of Shah Rukh Khan’s fan clubs told Siasat.com that they had been informed that there would be no birthday event on November 2 this year. Instead, the actor’s team is planning something bigger for fans ahead of the release of King in December.

The fan club source also shared a message received from Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house owned by Shah Rukh Khan, explaining the decision and acknowledging the disappointment among fans.

In its message to fan clubs, the team wrote, “The love and dedication you shower on SRK is deeply valued. We see and truly appreciate all the wonderful work you do, especially the efforts being made for the release of King.”

Acknowledging the significance of the birthday celebrations, the team added, “We know how much #SRKDAY means to you and your members, and how eagerly everyone looks forward to celebrating SRK’s birthday together. As SRK has often shared, he too genuinely looks forward to spending his birthday with his fans.”

SRK’s team hints at a bigger celebration before King

Explaining why the traditional birthday event will not take place this year, the message stated that the team had also explored the possibility of arranging a larger venue to accommodate more fans, but the plan did not work out.

“However, as we put the final touches on King, it will not be possible to hold the #SRKDAY event on 2nd November this year. We also explored a larger venue to accommodate more fans, but unfortunately, this has not worked out at present,” the message read.

The team also expressed regret over the disappointment this could cause, particularly for fans planning to travel from different parts of India and abroad.

“We are truly sorry for the disappointment this may cause, particularly to those who were looking forward to being there. Please ask them not to be disheartened,” it added.

Offering a glimmer of hope, the team hinted at the possibility of a bigger gathering before the film’s release.

“SRK genuinely values their love and support, and we hope to find another opportunity to bring everyone together, hopefully before the release of King and at a bigger venue. We will keep you informed as plans evolve,” the message concluded.

While the absence of the usual birthday gathering may disappoint fans, the possibility of a larger celebration ahead of King gives them something to look forward to. However, no alternative event has been officially confirmed so far.

Shah Rukh Khan’s King to release in December

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of King, an upcoming Hindi action thriller scheduled to hit theatres on December 24, 2026.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Anil Kapoor, alongside Shah Rukh Khan.

With the film’s release approaching, fans are eagerly awaiting updates. And although November 2 may not bring the traditional birthday celebration at Mannat, SRK’s team has left the door open for a possible fan gathering before King arrives in theatres.
